Constanza Bizraelli (alias CAO) is a Peruvian electronic music composer and producer, sound artist and theorist, currently based in Amsterdam.
She directs and edits the academic open access journal Cyclops, a publication dedicated to contemporary and experimental theory. Constanza states: “ the mix presents a wide palette of otherworldly Latin-American and international sounds which as a journey reflect on themes such as migration, discontinuity, fear and instability in the current times of global crisis.”
The name “CAO” is originally from the archeological site of the pyramids of Cao in Peru, home of an ancestral civilization where a mummy was unearthed of a young empress- priestess. Elements from ancient Peruvian cultures and cosmologies have profoundly influenced CAO’s sound. CAO’s debut album Marginal Virgin was released in 2016 on Opal Tapes (UK) and she has recently released her latest EP titled “Flesh Luminescence” via Club Chai (US).
