merma suelo

Fingered by words and sounds, merma suelo is a multifaceted poet from Mexico based in Berlin. They travel between layers to listen and transform the living relational dynamics with and within her. For this, they focus on practices like ritual, divination, romance, sound, and music. merma creates sonic processes ranging from spoken word to boleros, rancheras, ambient and noise, aiming to share magic and questions, while allowing space for improvisation, so that something new may come.
She released an album with the Ecuadorian label +ambién and was one of the LATAM artists in the “Ladridos” project from the Other People label. She is the founder of Fluid Ecotonalism – a liquid network and series of collaborative workshops translating relation between bodies of water through sound. And they are part of the collective “period music,” “Abolitionist Jelly” – a Berlin study group, one-half of “Las Chismosas”, among other beautiful collabs.
