We’re happy to introduce our new mix series with post-punk Brazilian trio RAKTA who describe their mix as “São Paulo caos”
Since the release of their first self-titled record in 2013, Rakta lived a vertiginous rise. Somewhat rare for a band hailing from the do-it-yourself punk scene of São Paulo, where the options are few and everything is done with “blood, sweat and tears.” The band arouses immediate international attention with their unique sound, both rough and psychedelic accompanied by the instinctive, free performances of their members, today comprised by Paula Rebellato (synth and voice), Carla Boregas (bass and electronics) and Mauricio Takara (percussion).
Other releases include 2019’s Falha Comum and FORMA/SIGILO EP, a split with Deafkids, 2017’s Oculto Pelos Seres EP and 2016’s III.
