Dj Sentimiento’s mix is: “full of Sudaca, Andean energy, 200 bpm, rave music, emotions, memories, holidays.” With a special dedication to their grandfather Edgard “who in these moments of crisis is having a hard time.”
Settled in all over the sound spectrum, from Hardcore to Huayno, the 17-year-old Peruvian producer, Dj Sentimiento, is interested in conveying teenage angst, our internal demons and the ups and downs of life. Sentimiento’s world is an existential-type of sonic adventure palpable in the project’s name: “I define myself as Sentimiento because I feel we have to search for diversity in life. We have to explore where we come from and get rid of stereotypes of how we should be seen, heard or felt.”
When not busy on their solo endeavors, Sentimiento gets together with Kornea (an equally talented, young DJ/producer from Lima who runs the label Entrometida), to collaborate under the moniker of Eutanasia. Sentimiento is part of Lima’s underground scene—currently expanding towards the whole of South America —often involved in projects with innovative queer collectives, artists and designers.
