This year the audio-visual duo Dengue Dengue Dengue celebrates its 10th anniversary. Felipe Salmón (aka ZUFU) and Rafael Pereira (aka MAKUMBA) had met in 2005 in their hometown of Lima, Peru, and shortly after, began their artistic collaborations. In 2007, together with multidisciplinary artists Juan Barreto, Esteban Coronel, and Nadia Escalante founded ‘Colectivo Auxiliar,’ a multi-purpose platform that would become a fundamental piece of Lima’s underground electronic music scene.
We are excited to release two mixes as the fourth installment of Radical Sounds Latin America Mix Series. In his set ZUFU articulates his love for complicated patterns, displaying Afro and Latin influenced beats from around the world, while MAKUMBA chose to present a collection of producers from North to South America, exploring polyrhythmic beats and experimental textures, and featuring some exclusive unreleased material from DDD’s upcoming label Kebrada.
