Some people have called Brazilian photographer Mateus Mondini a punk archaeologist. Founder of the seminal Brazilian punk label Nada Nada Discos, Mondini has ”reissued or released more than 50 classic or unreleased albums of national punk rock.” Artists include Mercenárias, Olho Seco, Fellini and Ratos de Porão and Rakta.
Mondini writes: “The mix is made up of songs by Brazilian artists recorded between 1968 and 1991. These songs were some of the ones I heard most at home during the pandemic, and each one is radical in their own way.”
Also a partner at Sub Discos, a vinyl and record store located in São Paulo’s city center, he has recently celebrated the birth of his new label Discos Nada, dedicated to reissuing work from the Brazilian experimental music scene.
