Cultural agitator, DJ and producer Laura Solarte aka Bitter Babe has been pushing for Latinx representation in the electronic music scene for the last 9 years.

Born in Bogota, Colombia and currently residing in Miami, she has developed and managed platforms within the electronic music circuit in her hometown and abroad. Moving effortlessly between various genres and forward thinking ideas, Solarte has been involved in creating spaces, both online and offline, that foster a sense of community within the electronic music scene and tackle major issues such as decolonization and the precariousness of the music industry in Latin America.
In 2020 she released her first EP on Colombian label TraTraTrax alongside Nick León. She is a member of ECO, a Colombian platform that promotes the self-management and interdependence of national and regional electronic ecosystems and a member of Latitudes, a space that aims to amplify labels, collectives and artists from the Latin American electronic music scene.
