To welcome the preparations for the fourth edition of Radical Sounds Latin America, we invited Brazilian researcher Nathalia Grilo to curate mix #9.
Thinking about various elements, old and current, that make up the imaginary of black Brazilian radical sound, Nathalia presents “Floresta de Símbolos”, a one-hour mix centered on black Brazilian artists from different eras.
Nathalia Grilo investigates radical imagination through black sensibilities and considers jazz aesthetics and black surrealism as her religion. She is the creator and producer of the Festival Mulambo Jazzagrario Instrumental. She writes for the Black Mass column in Sobinfluencia Edições, and runs the Negrume program on Radio Veneno.
